Play Therapy

Children and Adolescent Play Therapy

At True Perspective Mental Health Counseling, we believe children and adolescents deserve a therapeutic approach that meets them where they are. We offer play therapy and developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions for children and individuals of all ages, recognizing that communication and emotional expression can look different at every stage of life.

For children, play can be a natural and meaningful way to communicate feelings, experiences, worries, and challenges that may be difficult to express through traditional conversation. Our clinicians work to create a safe, supportive environment where children can build emotional awareness, develop coping skills, strengthen relationships, and work through challenges at their own pace.

We also believe that parents and caregivers are an important part of a child's therapeutic journey. Each child's treatment plan is personalized in collaboration with their parents or caregivers, with consideration given to the child's individual needs, family dynamics, goals, and developmental stage. Depending on the circumstances, we may also recommend individual 1:1 sessions with parents or caregivers to provide additional support, education, parenting strategies, and guidance that can complement the child's treatment.

Our goal is not only to support the child in therapy, but to help families develop the understanding, tools, and confidence needed to support continued growth outside of the therapy setting.
